Gypsy stallion roller

April 2014
In the Netherlands, we don’t have model horse shows often. Two a year can be considered as an overload!
On the 10th of May, we’ll have a live show this year. And I really wanted a new tackpiece to show then! And since I’ve been longing to make this Gypsy Stallion Roller for a while now, I decided that was gonna be the tack set I’d make.
These tack sets are used to show gypsy stallions on horse shows. Gypsy’s are very colourful people, and so are their horses! They really steal the show with their lovely tack.

Light tan pleasure harness

March 2014
This is the second set for Tiffany. She has a custom on the Make A Wish mold, so I’ve made the harness to fit that mold. To my delight, it also fits on my Sumara resin! Until now, I’ve never had her in tack because she’s pretty small, compared to other traditionals. But this fitted, and now that I’ve seen her in tack, I like her twice as much!

Bareback rodeo set

April 2014
A rodeo set for Nitro! I’ve made one before, but this one is meant for my own collection.
The set includes a flank strap (cueing the horse to buck), a “saddle” (handgrip for the rodeorider) and a halter. A set like this would be used in a so called bareback rodeo, where the rider may use only one hand to hold on to the horse (using the handgrip) for the 10 second ride.

Marathon harness

March 2014
This marathon harness is based on the harness of one of the horses that I ride often. The harness is made to fit Totilas (who also looks sortof like that horse). It’s a marathon harness, nice and sturdy made so it can be used for marathon competitions, but it’s also perfectly fine for driving in the bush.
This horse is accompanied by Gentle James, a shepherd resin made by Fia Sjörgen.

Skijoring harness

March 2014
I’ve got a great trade going on with Tiffany, she is making me an awesome custom, and I’m making her several tack sets!
This is the first of the 3 sets. It’s a skijoring set, but it can actually be used for pulling all kinds of things with a horse. I’ve seen a set just like this used in real (in a show) and there they used it to drag a man behind the horse through the sand, and to be pulled along on a snowboard and on ski’s.
The saddle and bridle aren’t included, it’s all about the harness.

Two donations

Februari 2014
Sometimes people ask me if I want to donate anything for a live show. When I’ve got time for it, I often agree to make something!
In the last couple of months, I’ve been asked for a donation twice: One for the  “4H model horse show” and one for the “Show for the cure live”. For the former, I’ve made a western show halter as donation, and for the latter, I’ve made a bridle & breastcollar in the pink-ribbon style, because the money that’s earned with this show will be donated for cancer research!

Blue detailed western set

March 2014
Tonight, I’ve finished Lisa’s blue toned western set! It’s made to fit a custom Idocus.
The set includes an extra showhalter and kid-stirrups, so that it can also be used for leadline-classes.

In this saddle, I’ve used a (for me) new tree, which is slightly smaller and shaped differently than the trees I used earlier. I believe this one is more pleasure-type-shaped. Anyway, I like this tree much better, especially since it fits on more models because it’s smaller!

Dressage set

December 2013
And here it is, Mindy’s dressage set, with the very pretty browband ^^ I made it a tad bigger than Mindy’s jumping set, because most dressage resins (and breyers, like Idocus, Salinero and such) are bigger than the avarage jumping horse.

English jumping set

December 2013
Hi guys! I’m working on two english sets for Mindy: a dressage set and a jumping set. I’ve half-finished the dressage set (just need to make a saddle now, the bridle is done) and I’ve just finished the jumping set!
Both sets are meant to be extra-adjustable, so that they can fit on both bigger and smaller traditionals. I’ve just tried out the jumping set on my models, and it fits a range of models from slightly smaller than the ish to as big as Hazel! I’ve also added a girth-elongator to the set, just in case 🙂

Okay, enough said. Here are the pics!

Gaucho set

November 2013
I’ve finished the gaucho set! It was a pretty scary order (I’ve never made anything that even comes close to a gaucho set) but I’m glad I did it, cause it turned out awesome!
Gaucho sets are used by the North American cowboys, who are called gaucho’s. They often spend long days in the saddle, so for the protection of both horse and rider, there are many layers of cushioning between them. The upper layer is usually a sheep skin, and the others are often folded blankets, which can also be used to keep warm at night (either horse or rider).

This set can’t be captured in one pic, so much is special about it! Hence the many pics, haha.
